Helischool - the virtual flightschool
Lesson 15 - Tail- and nose circle
After the parade, we come to a variant thereof - that circles around the pilot. This circles is feasible in several ways:
- The tail always points to the pilot
- The nose always points to the pilot
- The nose shows in the direction of flight
- The tail shows in the direction of flight
- The heli rotates itself 4 x around the vertical axis
We fly these exercises above the ground effect and in a sufficient safety distance.
By the slightest uncertainty raise up to the top and newly flown.
Let's start with the rear view.
Heli clearly positioned in front of you, with 3m distance and with a little roll take drive sideways.
With the nod, we consider the distance to us.
We hold the tail with the yaw just in our direction, and also pay attention to compliance of the height.
Don't lay the heli unnecessarily steep in the curve, because with the decrease of the speed, it slides fast in our direction.
Both directions
After some exercises you noticed automatically that faster circuits are easier to control. Thats likely the fact of the centrifugal force of the circling heli, and at the lower stream of the rotor.
It is essential: do not be unilaterally! All circles were trained in both directions. The control behaviour changed, because the teil rotor gets wind of different sides.
The nose
In view of the nose is the whole thing even more difficult. But never give up! Some flight studies reported to me they are even proficient in the nose circles before the nose hover.
4x4
The king of this exercise is the rotation of the heli during the circle. Pro quarter circle one rotating is just right. Of course, with a little less speed. The smaller helis otherwise get the ass are not around.
Come to the last lesson 16
