Helischool - the virtual flightschool
Lesson 11 - Examination- The great challenge!
It is serious, my dear flight students!
Today, I would like to send you with an exam task on the flight terrain. It is the first test of three, I want you to conduct. It is adjusted in the difficult of the level 1 of the IRCHA, even a little higher.
By completing this test, you have the assurance that you have your flight skills demonstrated. You have achieved the level 1 of the helicopter flying!
The flight
Your exam-flight will be decreased by two referees. The first define yourself, the second provides the first, right? These two discuss the tasks before the examination flight and certify the good execution of it.
Certificate
Who send his audit report plus 5 € to te Helischool, gets an exam-certificate back. The amount is for the certificate, the postage and a little bit costs for the webside. You must still invite your referees for a worthy celebration ;-)
All successful pilots are reported here in an alphabetical list.
Conditions for the Exam:
- You don't use "training-wheels" anymore
Ten Points including the exam "level 1":
- Start without break-out about 1m radius on 1m altitude.
- Ten seconds hoving in 1m, 2m and 3m height, then back in front of the pilot.
- Hover, laterally over a distance of 5m in both directions.
- Hover a recognizable square of approx. 3m edge length.
- Hover a circle of about 4m diameter.
- Hover a recognizable aft. The crossing point is marked.
- Hover a circle around the pilot. The rear shows always to the pilot.
- Flying a straight from about 8m forward and reverse back to the pilot.
- Flying until the batteries are dead without spreader
- Landing on both vads.
Instructions for the referees:
- You need two windbreaker markings.
- The 10 points of the examination flight have to by flying within one battery charge.
- Each item must to repeat twice again.
- If the heli run away clearly (the pilot lost the the control), gets into the excercise before.
- Is the third battery unsuccessfully gone, the examination should be pass again after one week.
- Introduce the pilots about the exercises. Plug or place the markers before the start.
- The pilot decides the speed of preparation and the timing of the launch.
- This 10 points can be easily worked within four minutes. There is also enough time for repetition.
- Between the exercises the heli returns to the pilot.
For your help, there is a useful quick reference by Bruno Bachmann, CH in .pdf.
To 1.
Start from a marker, vertically upwards, without a burst sidewards about one meter
To 2.
Hover with the rear to the pilot. The higher, the further the heli should be away from the pilot. The heli should not burst to the side or aback. The descent from 3m may be shifted laterally and ends in 1m height in front of the pilot.
To 3.
Set two markers in 5m distance. The heli hovers laterally from one marker to another. The heli nose always shows in the wind direction.
To 4.
The pilot control a 3m-square. The nose stays remains in wind direction. The square has to be recognizable, but is not marked. The direction selected the pilot.
To 5.
The pilot control a 4m-circle. The nose remains in wind direction. The circle must be recognizable, the center is marked. The direction selected the pilot.
To 6.
Mark the crossing point of the aft. Direction selected the pilot. The nose is always in wind direction.
To 7.
The referees are 15m from the pilots away. This orbits himself with the heli at a distance of about 2-5m. The tail shows always in the direction of the pilot. + /-45 °
To 8.
The heli flies in 1-2m height straight against the wind drifts away and then backwards the route back. Regardless of speed, but no burst over 1m left / right.
To 9.
The pilot flies the battery "dead". He will preferably do any hove - exercices. With the first signs of a power break, the flight ended. The subsequent landing is immediately initiate
and
To 10.
The landing should be fairly soft, without high jumping and without sliding sideways.
The pilot is compliant to treat you to a drink ;-)
If you have passed the exam, then please look at the advanced-course in lesson 12
