Lesson 10 - Service and support
Your helicopter is now already a few flying hours old. It is subject to an inevitable wear like everything highly stressed ones. By all aircrafts the failure of a small construction unit can lead to the crash…
Wear means at the same time a degradation of the flight characteristic for our heli. Hoving will more exhausting, the control becomes imprecise, the capacity generally decrease.
- Time for an inspection! -
Work off the check list. Afterwards deconstruct the mechanics so far as necessary. Each hooked part is to be renewed or restored professionally.
The Checklist:
Support of the helicopter

Main shaft
- crooked
- Bearingseat worn out
- Oneway bearing shaft worn
- Oneway bearing defectively
- bearings defectively

Feathering shaft
- crooked
- Thread damages
- bearing defectively

Flybar rod
- crooked
- Drilling torn open

Flybar paddle
- damaged
- Drilling/thread defectively

Main rotor head
- Dampingrings become strong
- Dampingring is shredded
- Main rotor holders defectively, worn out
- Pivot arm defectively
- Main drillings worn out

Gyro/Receiver
- Fixing control
- Flex rubbing
- Connector = cable kink
- Connector= contact doubtful
Just like a new one!
- After Separation a clarification of all parts is announced. Defective parts re-order and exchange.
- Adhesive pads replace and renew.
- Possibly consider again the Arrangement of all RC parts.
- Accomplish Test runs of the power train and the rotor head under largest caution! At first without rotor blades and well fixated helicopter.
- Take time for the adjustment of the control spool - take the description to help.
- Now lubricate the mechanics after recommendation of the manufacturer. In final step install and fixed all cables of the RC asset and the receiver cleanly and safety.
- The trace run will not tune anymore. The trims are to be reached again.
- Now your helicopter is ready for flight again, and goes with you by the coming season.
